People that know me well will know that I have weird, vivid dreams. I have had premonitions, some good, some bad, some mediocre (that was the one involving buses). Lately it’s just been a plain and simple case of the weird, vivid dreams that I’ve been having.

Recent gems include:

1) I was talking to a man who was a bit of a cheeky chappy Cockney geezer. He was telling me that he was the brains behind Madonna and that he wrote the lyrics and songs and came up with her new ‘looks’. He also gave me the impression that he was actually Madonna himself. The little linguistics geek inside me even pops up in my dreams it seems, as I remember marvelling at his/her? ability to do a good Cockney accent.

2) I was playing guitar onstage with The Rolling Stones at a festival. I have played guitar a wee bit when I was a child, and although I’m left-handed, I play the guitar right-handed. In the dream I kept swapping the guitar over as neither way felt comfortable. I was standing next to Mick Jagger, and as I looked at him I remember hoping that they would play ‘Jumping Jack Flash’.

3) I was drumming for So-Cal punk band The Vandals. Not a gig though, only a practice sesh. But I have never played the drums and I was actually quite good in the dream.

I don’t know why I’m dreaming all this. I’m not particularly a fan of Madonna, and I like the ‘Stones well enough but I don’t own any of their records. I do like The Vandals but haven’t listened to their albums in years. I have no desire to be a musician either. At least in my waking hours anyway..
