Drinking with Norwegians in Manchester on a Tuesday night

Went to some of the world famous In The City music conference in Manchester earlier this week. It was good - I love Manchester very much, and got to see some great gigs by some good up-n-coming artists: Eugene McGuinness, The Strange Death Of Liberal England, Charlie Calleja, and Squire.

I spent Tuesday night in a venue called One Central Street drinking red wine (and consequently getting merry because I haven’t drunk alcohol in months) and chatting to a girl called Åse, who manages a Norwegian band called Sally Suicide.

She was very nice, and VERY eloquent…her command of the English language put a lot of English people to shame. Hearing her talk has put another boot up the backside to me when it comes to language learning, so off I go on relearning German again, and attempting to master Dutch as well.
