Good Noise: Volume 4
My latest list of good noise is a little belated, because Saturday was otherwise occupied by a wedding reception - where I broke my own personal record for the consumption of vegetable spring rolls at one sitting. The spring rolls and the potato wedges were the only vegan food items at the evening buffet and I was absolutely starving, hence me literally inhaling 12 spring rolls in about 2 minutes flat.
Anyway, moving on, here’s the latest volume of Good Noise - better belated than never:
1) These Hertfordshire boys scored regular airplay on BBC 6Music’s Phill Jupitus Breakfast Show with this little number. Dust off yer Gola trainers, slip ‘em on, and commence some frantic air drumming:

2) One way to describe this tune is: gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. Another, and perhaps more informative way to describe it would be to say that it’s a beautiful shoegazing piece of music, with a lullaby quality to it. Oren Lavie’s debut album, The Opposite Side of the Sea, got its European release last weekend, and if this song is anything to go by, then I must get my little paws on a copy of the album ASAP.

3) Beats, beats, and more beats from this Northern duo. If you’re not dancing to this big musical beast, I may have to ask what is wrong with you. This is the live version of the song.
Nursery of Naughtiness - Supa Hands: www.myspace.com/nonlive
4) Meet Tiffany & Guillaume, aka The Lost Idols. She lives in London and writes the lyrics, while French house producer Guillaume writes the music. The pair work mainly on cyberspace, with Guillaume making the melodies and sending them to Tiffany on email, who then writes the lyrics to the tunes she hears. A dreamy, dreamy musical slice of Air-esque sounds.
The Lost Idols - Apples & Pears: www.myspace.com/lostidols
5) I love this song - straight up indie-rock with a downbeat, electro twist threaded through it that gives it a different sound.
