Good Noise: Volume 7

Another belated Good Noise from me - didn’t get the chance to do it on Saturday as I was busy seeing The Wrens play yet another AMAZING show at the ULU venue in London. Anyway, I’ll probably rant on about that later today or tomorrow, so without further ado, here’s your quintet of musical treats for this week:

1) London based indie duo - I love this song mainly because of the delightfully discordant vocal style the girl employs on the track.

2) Another London based indie collective are The MüVs (pronounced ‘moves’) who came runner-up with this song at the Songwriter Academy Awards last year - click here to read the interview I did with Jonno Wright, lead vocalist and songwriter. If you’re not British, and you don’t know what a ‘chav’ is, then read this to get you up to speed. The MüVs - Chav Song: www.myspace.com/themuvs

3) A straight-up, funky house tune to get you dancing:
Ki - Quiero Bailar: www.myspace.com/worldki2

4) A beautiful, wistful, thoughtful tune from these boys - The Lost Revue - who I think have sadly disbanded. I just love the simplicity of the melody and the plaintive sound of the mouth organ. The song sounds like it should be on a soundtrack for a British 60s film, a la The Ipcress File, or Get Carter.

5) A quirky, cheeky wee beast of a tune that’s quite instantly likeable and makes you dance in a jaunty way:
