Noise

I’ve just found on my Reuters RSS feed a really interesting news article about a new Tim Robbins film called ‘Noise’ which I would really like to see when it’s released.

The film mirrors the real life experiences of the film’s director, Henry Bean, who went to prison and paid thousands of dollars in fines for breaking into people’s cars in the middle of the night to silence car alarms.

A spell in jail and a potential marriage break-up saw Bean deciding to fight his cause in a more legal fashion, through collecting signatures for a petition and approaching the city mayor.

‘Noise’ is the second film from the controversial director, whose debut cinematic outing, ‘The Believer’, courted major controversy with its very touchy subject matter of a young Jewish man becoming a neo-Nazi skinhead. This was also based on a true story - that of a KKK member in the 1960s who turned out to be Jewish. The film claimed the Grand Jury prize at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival, but no US distributor would touch it.

According to imdb.com, the film is still in production and looks set for a 2008 release…one film I’m definitely interested in seeing. I know how the man feels…I am STILL plagued by noisy foxes in Chiswick, and yes, I’m still up for chasing them down the road in my pyjamas, because they are THAT annoying.
