Found a website today that tells you how to change the default messages on the printer status screen at your workplace to confuse/annoy your colleagues. All you need is some tech know-how and a telnet connection.

You can technically put in whatever message you want into the simple re-programming, but for starters, people are encouraged to put the phrase ‘insert coin’. Other popular phrases as people have branched out include:

OUT OF CHEESE
I’M NOT PRINTING TODAY
I CRAVE BLOOD

So, if you’re geekily inclined, and sure you won’t get fired for it, then here’s how. Don’t worry, the code for the cure is also on the same page, so take note should you need to backpeddle in a hurry : )
