Beet-i-ful!

I have just made my first ever juice.

Looks good, eh? Tastes great too. It contains:

4 x beetroot
3 x baby apples (can’t remember what type)
1 x lemon, peeled and pips removed

And that’s it. I bought a juicer on sale back in February this year, and had never used it. I finally plucked up the courage to buy a bunch of beetroot @ Sainsburys this week, and thought that would force me to unpack and use the juicer. Well, it worked. Along with the fact I bought some apples for eating this week but they had a weird taste so I thought they could be juiced instead.

Apples are good for adding sweetness to juices that contain vegetables. I think the lemon helped a lot too, that was just lying around, waiting in the Fruit & Vegetable God Waiting Room I sometimes stupidly confine fruit and veg too when I buy them, look at them, carry them around in my work bag, and eventually send them to Compost Heaven.

Beetroot is a good blood cleanser and contains iron, apples are good too, and lemon, I think that’s good for alkanising the body…even though it’s acidic. Anyway, if you can’t be bothered to juice, then buy a juice once in a while at a juice bar, they are very yummy and make you feel very saintly ; P

I’m going to drink the juice then hit the road north - I’m going to see REM play live tomorrow (for the first time ever, for me, that is) @ Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester - woop woop! : )
