Yeah, possibly a lousy subject heading, for this, my first blog of 2009 - Happy New Year and all that gubbins btw - well, yes, I know it sounds like the subject of a spam email you’d find floating in your Hotmail inbox like a e-turd, but I can’t think of anything better to call this on a Sunday night at slightly stupid o’ clock, so, make like a Catholic priest in a confession box, and forgive me?

I’ve actually just logged in briefly tonight to show you this, which happened in a shopping centre near where I work just before Christmas.

I was going down, and someone was coming UP, but not in the usual way. It’s kinda like a reverse firemen’s pole…yes, it was a kid doing it, and there was the inevitable shouts from security guards, ‘ERRRR, can you GET OFF the rail please!’ but it made me giggle. I managed to get a pic as I continued downwards on the other side before scampering off home.

I *liked* that the kids thought of riding the rail like that. It’s a bit parkour. Why don’t us adults do more stuff like that? We’re all so conformist a lot of the time and it makes me want to hurl.
