Hello there…

Long time, no blog.
If you haven’t caught this slightly-formulaic-yet-still-savvy US crime drama on UKTV’s crime drama channel, Alibi, then check it out, as the season 1 is currently being shown here in the UK. I’m a sucker for articulate, intelligent, slightly flirty guys so I have to say my latest TV crush is the star of the show, Richard Castle.
The constant banter and will-they-won’t-they is the kind of verbal tennis I love to indulge in, and am always happy to watch on the small screen. However I am getting a little worried that I get the hots for on-screen smartasses who have a place of residence as their last name - I’ve still got a special place in my heart for Hugh Laurie as the Chiron-esque ‘House’.
The show itself is mostly straightforward, if a little unrealistic. Castle is a famous crime novelist who’s helping out the NYPD when they’re investigating a copycat murder based on one of his books. He receives permission to continue helping da cops solve other murder cases and thus, we have a TV series.
Below are a few short clips which should give you an idea of the spirit of the show - while it’s a crime drama, there’s strong comedic elements, as well as that classic UST (unresolved sexual tension).
Castle - Wednesdays, Alibi, 9pm.
If you couldn’t make it to the Royal Windsor Rollergirls vs Romsey Town Rollerbillies bout last Saturday, then here’s what you missed…check out my cracking salute in the skate-out…it’s in the first 10 seconds…
…and I wish he was my uncle because he’s funny as anything. This video - his latest top-quality gaffe, is from Sky’s Soccer Saturday programme, from Sat 3rd April:
You simply cannot NOT laugh at this. It’s brilliant. I often watch Soccer Saturday with my Dad, because he tends to have it on on the weekends while he’s vegging out, and I often can’t be bothered to move from the sofa myself. Like I say, I’m not that into football, but I think Jeff Stelling is a good enough presenter that he makes it watchable for me, and I always look forward to any away matches Kamara’s covering because he’s such a good reporter…even when he’s messing up like this.
WTF? I particularly like some of the user comments for this vid, but my fave is one of the most recent comments on there, courtesy of Xyberfaust…
